Dr. Laura Clemenhagen is a graduate of the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto. After graduation, she moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, where she spent six years practicing in a multidisciplinary clinic in downtown Vancouver. She returned to Ontario in 2014 and has been proudly serving the Collingwood community ever since!
With a background in Kinesiology, her approach to care is simple: get you moving as quickly and safely as possible. Treatments focus on the specific area of concern to reduce restriction, improve mobility, and restore function, with the ultimate goal of helping you return to the activities you love and spend less time in the clinic.
She treats both acute and chronic neuromusculoskeletal conditions using a variety of chiropractic techniques, rehabilitative exercises, and Active Release Technique. She is also trained in Kinesiology Taping, which is used to support joints and help reduce inflammation following injury. In addition to her clinical work, she served as the Chiropractor and Injury Support Team Leader for the UBC Track and Field Team.
An accomplished athlete herself, she was a member of the National Dragon Boat Team for six years and is a certified dragon boat and flatwater canoe coach through the Mississauga Canoe Club. She has also worked as a certified alpine ski coach and ski instructor at Mansfield Ski Club and played varsity lacrosse at the University of Western Ontario. She has competed in Ontario, British Columbia, California, and Hawaii as an outrigger paddler.
Since settling in Collingwood, she has remained ac
tive in the community, serving on volunteer boards with the Southern Georgian Bay Community Health Centre, Canoe Kayak Ontario, and the Collingwood Skating Club, as well as volunteering at the Collingwood Public Library. She is also a coach and board member with the Collingwood Paddling Club.
She enjoys working with people from all walks of life, from athletes and desk workers to pregnant patients and those managing chronic pain, and believes chiropractic care can be an important part of any health team.
She is a licensed member of the Ontario Chiropractic Association, the College of Chiropractors of Ontario, and the Canadian Chiropractic Association, and welcomes both new and returning patients.
